The title track to the Andrew Watt-produced 13th album features Jeff Beck, Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Zakk Wylde, and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers plus an accompanying visual from Todd McFarlane.
The long-awaited follow-up to Ozzy Osbourne’s celebrated 2020 LP Ordinary Man has finally landed after a formative weekend for the rock icon. Still recovering from a significant spine and neck surgery, the 73-year old is said to be resting, recovering, and has now begun the campaign for his 13th full length effort with the launch of Patient Number 9.
Again teaming with mega-producer Andrew Watt, the 13-track presentation touts an impressive, diverse assembly of creative cohorts. From Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan to Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction and even the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, the album is further bolstered by guitar legends like Eric Clapton, longtime Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde, Jeff Beck and the timeless tandem of Ozzy and Tony Iommi, who is featured on two tracks on the project.
To begin the march towards the September 9th release of the album, Ozzy has unveiled the title track – a star-studded effort that pools together Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and the previously mentioned Jeff Beck and Zakk Wylde.
Coupled with the ceremonial kick off is the visual for the single which enlists comic book legend and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane for a dazzling video that mixes live action and dark animation for stunning effect. The video works well with the track ominous theme of a distressed mental patient – classic Ozzy.
