The lead up to the arrival of Papa Roach’s next chapter in the album Ego Trip has resulted in a succession of successful singles.
The 11th studio effort from the band continued to build momentum from the onset of genre-bending bangers like “Swerve” featuring Jason Aalon Butler of Fever 333. Bolstered by effective selections with “Cut The Line”, “Stand Up”, “Dying To Believe”, and the impactful “Kill the Noise” – a single that climbed to the number 1 spot on the Mainstream Rock Charts for over a month – reiterated that Papa Roach had emerged reinvigorated.
The band recently wrapped their first headlining tour in three years in the “Kill The Noise Tour” featuring very special guests Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves. As an indicator of the band’s continued relevance and enduring influence, many of the shows on the run were sold out – packed houses equally excited to experience the band’s catalog, old and new.
To mark the celebration of the album that resulted from hap and circumstance, Papa Roach doubled down on their rank as one of rock music’s most endearing, fan-friendly bands by having some fun with their own take on an internet staple. P-Roach took over the iconic Shakey’s Pizza Parlor on Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles on the eve of the album’s release, for an “All You Can Eat” rager that saw the band actually set up in the restaurant and perform. The move follows the widely popular meme that lives for eternity on the internet that flips the lyrics to Papa Roach’s classic “Last Resort” – “Cut my life into pizza, this is my knife and fork“

As for the release of Ego Trip, after decades in the game, many accolades and some of the most memorable songs in the modern era of rock, Papa Roach continue to break new ground. The band’s energy and enthusiasm permeates in a collection of songs that reiterate that the Roach is still revved and ready to go.
The band’s frontman Jacoby Shaddix spoke of the accomplishment of album 11 and the inspiration at the core of Ego Trip. “Throughout my life I’ve embarked on this constant journey to unravel this…thing, This eternal paradigm; this struggle between the light and the dark. I see it alive in the world and it’s something I’m constantly trying to find balance in with regards to my own life. Who is at the wheel of my ego? Is it the high-frequency version of myself, the one who is more spiritual and self-aware, or is it the low-frequency version who can be selfish, self-centered and self-seeking? Throughout the process of making this record, we had some really profound conversations about life, who is at the helm of our egos and what it is that drives and motivates us.”
