The reunion tour that will be two years in the making has confirmed dates in 2022 including five consecutive nights at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden.
What was initially scheduled as one of the most anticipated tours of 2020 will now officially happen some two years later as the reunion run for Rage Against the Machine has been confirmed for the spring and summer months of 2022.
The band will be joined by rap trailblazers Run The Jewels for a jaunt that will begin late March and run through the month of August. As has been the case with every other tour on the planet, both Rage and RtJ were forced to postpone the joint effort due to Covid concerns that plagued all of 2020 and have since stretched into 2021. Out of an abundance of caution, the tandem will wait until 2022 to get back to the business of taking their message to the masses.
In a statement issued via the band’s social media outlets, Rage detailed the following.
“The Rage Against The Machine tour will now start in the spring of 2022. Your tickets will be honored for the postponed shows. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase for 30 days if you are unable to make it to the new date. We will see you next year.”
In recent years, Zack De La Rocha has become closely connected with the pairing of Killer Mike and El-P. Featured on various tracks including RTJ2’s ‘Close Your Eyes (And Count to F**k),” RTJ3’s “Kill Your Masters,” and RTJ4’s “Ju$t” alongside Pharrell Williams, the pairing of Run The Jewels and Rage makes sense for a myriad of reasons – with stylistically and in terms of artistic substance.
Either way – it will be one of the most hyped tours of the season come 2022.
