Rob Zombie, John 5 and Nikki Sixx’s new supergroup L.A. Rats to release “I’ve Been Everywhere” cover for Netflix’s ‘The Ice Road’

The disaster flick starring Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne arrives on the streaming giant June 25th but the Geoff Mack-cover arrives May 21st.

Supergroup L.A. Rats are here to upgrade your movie watching experience.

Rob Zombie and Nikki Sixx, along with guitar virtuoso John 5 (Rob Zombie, ex-Marilyn Manson) and Tommy Clufetos (Black Sabbath, ex-Ozzy Osbourne), will be bringing their atmospheric expertise right to your living room via Netflix’s upcoming release The Ice Road.

The group’s cover of Geoff Mack’s legendary “I’ve Been Everywhere” will accompany several country tunes in the film, which tells the story of a mining accident in rugged Northern Canada. The best news? You don’t have to wait until the June 25 movie release to hear L.A. Rats’ debut, as the track will be officially dropping tomorrow, May 21.

Rob Zombie is, of course, no stranger to adapting his musical vision to the world of film. His palpable sonic and visual aesthetics have birthed cult classics such as House of 1,000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects (2005). Putting two and two together, John 5 worked as a composer on Zombie’s supernatural epic The Lords of Salem (2012) and the clown-laden 31 (2016).

In addition to John 5, who currently serves as Rob Zombie’s lead guitarist, Clufetos has helped bring Zombie’s vision to life through his drumming contributions on stage. While a few steps removed from nightmare fuel, Nikki Sixx has also bridged the gap between music and film through his work on Mötley Crüe’s wildly entertaining biopic The Dirt, which was distributed by Netflix in 2019.

As the members posted news of their new project, rat emojis steadily flooded in, garnering excitement among their overlapping fanbases. Indeed, the six degrees of separation within rock pays off once more as this dream team leaves us fiending for what is to come.

The Ice Road stars Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne in a disaster flick that pits veteran ice road truckers in a race against time to save a crew of miners trapped and faced with certain death. The film arrives on Netflix June 25th.
