The early 2023 offers an impressive collection of extreme music’s veterans and emerging prospects.
A black cloud is slowly rolling toward North America and darkness will descend winter of 2023 as the black metal storm of Rotting Christ, Carach Angren, Uada and Gaerea hit the road for the “Under Our Black Cult” Tour. The tour kicks off on February 16th in Houston, Texas and wraps on March 14th in Orlando, Florida.
Prior to the tour, Rotting Christ will perform two punishing sets on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, including an anniversary set of their seminal album, Thy Mighty Contract.
Among the billed artists Rotting Christ, Carach Angren and Gaerea are all out in support of releases on Season of Mist. For Rotting Christ, the band continues to dominate with a vast catalog punctuated by their most recent 2019 full length, The Heretics. Dutch duo Carach Angren will be showcasing selections from their 2020 manifesto in the deluxe edition of Franckensteina Strataemontanus.
Lastly, Portugal’s purveyors of punishing black metal in Gaerea released one of the best records in the year in Mirage. This will mark a rare North American trek for the band and an important opportunity to catch the power of Gaerea live.
