The collection of studio and live bonus tracks are now available for the first time ever online.
Having recently announced their massive North American trek of metallic extremity with Carach Angren, Uada and Gaerea, Greek legends Rotting Christ have completed a busy week with the news of a surprise new EP with The Apocryphal Spells, Vol. I and Vol. 2.
Compiling a collection of studio rarities and live bonus tracks, the pair of EPs offers music digitally that was previously only available on limited release physical format. Given the separation into volumes, there is some suggestion more editions could be on the way.
Vocalist/guitarist for Rotting Christ Sakis Tolis shared of the reveal, “My dear friends, I can proudly announce a compilation of rare Rotting Christ tracks that have never been released on digital platforms before. We have now the opportunity to release them via the first part of a compilation: ‘The Apocryphal Spells’. Thanks for your attention, and I hope you will enjoy them, as we also did, recording them back in the days. Spirit Up!”
The release marks the first delivery of music from the band since their 2019 full length, their thirteenth studio album in, The Heretics. The five track project also includes two colossal covers of German Thrash legends Kreator with “Tormentor” and “Flag of Hate/Pleasure to Kill” rounding out the release.
