This weekend Run the Jewels unveiled their long-awaited contribution to the upcoming Cypberpunk 2077 video game. The track “No Save Point” delivered one of the most anticipated offerings from a vide game soundtrack that boasts the likes of Grimes, Refused, Nina Kravi, Ilan Rubin, A$AP Rocky and more.
In addition to the single drop, the duo unveiled the Mike Diva-directed video as part of the Adult Swim Festival that broadcast this weekend. The director offered the following on his excitement on how the finished product resulted.
“Getting the opportunity to drop my favorite rappers into the world of Cyberpunk 2077 was a dream come true,” shared Diva. “The folks at CD Projekt Red basically gave me the freedom to take a ton of their incredible assets, environments, clothing, etc. and go ham with combining and abstracting elements into new imagery that captures the vibe of what makes the game so damn cool. My team at Lord Danger and I truly poured our hearts into making this video a love letter to all the things Cyberpunk/Run The Jewels and I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we did making it.”
The video served as a announcement of sorts as Run the Jewels further entrenches themselves in the universe of Cyberpunk 2077. As featured in the actual video game, fans can now purchase an exclusive line of Cyberpunk 2077/Run the Jewels merchandise that ranges from hoodies to tees to accessories.
In addition to the collaborative merch collection, the entities are also teaming up for an especially ambitious craft beer collaboration launch that includes some twelve different versions of the “No Save Point” beer crafted by some 13 different breweries from across the US including City Built, Horus, Interboro, Mason Ale Works, Modist, Pipeworks, Weathered Souls. Internationally, Mexico is represented by Cerveza Minerva , Poland by Inne Beczki, Australia has Moon Dog, Germany features BRLO, and the Netherlands showcase VandeStreek.
“The collaborating breweries were chosen as they’re each independent leaders in creativity, and also because they share a similar ethos of expanding and supporting inclusivity within the craft beer community,” says Kate Brankin, who oversees the RTJ beverage efforts.
Each of the breweries were invited to offer their own creativity to the packaging of the beer. “No Save Point” is shaping up to be the catalyst for Run the Jewels as the aim is to produce their own beer, seltzer, and spirits in 2021.
