Slipknot, KISS, My Chemical Romance and Foo Fighters top Aftershock Festival’s 2022 edition

Billed as the West Coast’s biggest rock festival, Aftershock announces massive 90-band line-up spanning four stages and four full days.

The 2021 installment of Aftershock Festival set an impressive bar. In fact, when the dust settled, the rock-centric destination in Sacto saw some 145,000 attendees pass through the gates – a record-setting number to add to the event’s fifth consecutive sold-out year.

Hellbent on building to make the annual gathering even bigger and better in 2022, the line-up for October pilgrimage has surfaced and suffice to say, the ante has most certainly been upped.

Headlining this year’s festivities for the four-day, four stage expansion, Aftershock has enlisted Slipknot, KISS, My Chemical Romance, and Foo Fighters as the marquee mainstays. Among the heavyweight draws anchoring the massive 90-band bill, include performances from the likes of Rob Zombie, Ghostemane, Evanescence, Killswitch Engagem Judas Priest, Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Jinjer, Falling In Reverse, Bullet For My Valentine, Spiritbox, Papa Roach, A Day To Remember, Beartooth, City Morgue, Enter Shikari, Bring Me the Horizon, Architects, Action Bronson, and so many more.

Listed as one the essential live music destinations in the 2022 KNOTFEST Festival Forecast, Aftershock continues to serve as North America’s answer to the international rock and metal-focused mega-festivals that dominate the culture. Despite being forced to postpone the 2020 edition, Aftershock managed to make a spectacular return last year that included a historic two-night performance from Metallica and an epic appearance by Glenn Danzig and The Original Misfits.

Participating artists in the latest announcement offered their thoughts on the epic line-up.

Rob Zombie shared, “Aftershock is one of our favorite festivals. Always an amazing weekend. We are ready to take it to the next level this year.”

Amy Lee of Evanescence also chimed in, “We are so stoked to play at Aftershock in Sacramento this fall! MCR, Foo Fighters, KISS, Slipknot, there’s so much to look forward to! We absolutely cannot wait for this epic festival.”

Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix said, “I am over the moon stoked to be one of the headliners of Aftershock this year. Honestly, this is like a dream come true. We have worked our whole career for moments like this, and cannot wait to be back in SACRAMENTO, where it all began, for the hometown throwdown!!!!
