Slipknot has announced plans for a homecoming event that set to descend upon the National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, IA, just miles from their epicenter of Des Moines, IA.
Following the native Iowans historic performance in 2019 at The Iowa State Fair, the band has detailed plans to yet again show their home state pride with Knotfest Iowa set for September 25th, 2021. Designed to be the biggest heavy music and cultural event hosted by the Mid-West state, the festival will include a diverse collection of performances from Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb of God, $uicideBoy$, Gojira, Trivium, Tech N9ne, Fever 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Gatecreeper, and Vended.
Clown of Slipknot offered his take on the news and heeded fans to get ready for a monumental event. “A home show is always insane, but a home “Knotfest” show will be on a whole other level. Prepare. See you soon for the new reality. Stay (sic).”
The news of the event comes as Slipknot have also confirmed that they have returned to the studio to begin work on the follow up to their universally acclaimed 2019 release, ‘We Are Not Your Kind’. Faced with a global pandemic while touring the world in support of the album, the band’s plans were halted as was the rest of the world. The announcement of the Knotfest Iowa and work on a new album clearly reiterates that the masked nine is deadset in settling some unfinished business and are rejuvenated, refocused, and reloaded.
