The 30-date run will also see Suffocation make an appearance at the 2022 edition of Maryland Deathfest.
New York death metal trailblazers Suffocation have shared the North American segment of their 2022 live itinerary with the reveal of their Forces of Hostility Tour.
Recruiting a trio of purveyors of pummel, Atheist, Soreption and Contrarian will serve as the supporting portion of the 30-date trek. The run will also include Suffocation’s highly-touted appearance at 2022’s Maryland Deathfest. Guitarist Terrance Hobbs spoke about the announcement and the excitement paired with the band’s first confirmed tour in more than two years.
“We are beyond stoked to return to the road with the “FORCES OF HOSTILITY NORTH AMERICAN TOUR 2022”! We’ll be joined by our good friends and brothers in metal Atheist as well as the technical metal powerhouse Soreption and death metallers Contrarian! This will be our first tour back in almost 3 years due to COVID so we are eagerly awaiting the stage and all our fans to blow off some well-awaited steam! “
Transitioning into a new chapter of the Suffocation legacy, the band has progressed from the departure of original vocalist Frank Mullen. Closing the book on the long-standing tenure of the influential vocalist, the era was culminated with the release of Suffocation’s live album recorded during his last North American tour in 2019.
The 2021 album was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (BEYOND CREATION, CRYPTOPSY) and featured the unparalleled visual accent in the artwork created by Jon Zig. The 13-track compilation sourced selections from landmark albums including Effigy Of The Forgotten and Pierced From Within, comprising a career-spanning collection of brutality and a fitting end to the Mullen-era, while setting the stage for the band’s next chapter.
General admission tickets for the Forces of Hostility Tour go on sale Friday, January 14th at 9 AM PST/12 PM EST.
