The album arrives February 17th in multiple vinyl configurations via Black Waltz Records and includes the duet “Violence No Matter What” featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.
Swedish metal unit Avatar offered the first glimpse of their next chapter earlier this year, revealing the mammoth single, “Valley of Disease”. Thus far, 2022 brought on a consistent run of the road with Avatar touring on their own headlining stint with Light the Torch, a supporting stadium run with the indomitable Iron Maiden in South America and an arena jaunt with war-heavy collective, Sabaton.
Now, the band have pulled back the curtain on their ninth full length studio effort with the introduction and track list reveal of their February 17th LP, Dance Devil Dance. The album was recorded in the Swedish wilderness, working in seclusion with producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Mr. Bungle, Crobot, Stone Sour, Amon Amarth, Uriah Heep).
“You always hear bands say, ‘This is our best album yet.’ This is our best album yet. It is Avatar at our most laser focused, at our most razor sharp. There’s no BS, no extra fat. Every track is a weapon and has a purpose. It’s all in the title, as this album is our angriest, horniest and most spiritual release, all at once. It’s a must-hear,” the band says.
In revealing the track list, Avatar has also introduced multiple vinyl configurations for Dance Devil Dance as well.

The introduction also confirms the collaboration with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm that punctuates the album. “Violence No Matter What” is described as a powerhouse track, a duet with Hale that serves to bring the metal’s circus show to a dramatic close.
Just one day after the arrival of Dance Devil Dance, Avatar will embark on their EU/UK headlining tour along with Veil of Maya, Kassogtha, and Mastiff. The 26-date stretch begins in the UK with an opening in Manchester and wraps up on March 31st with a finale in Karlsruhe, DE. All dates can be found below.
