The 26-date North American run will coincide with the release of the band’s 15th studio album and mark four decades of Destruction.
German thrash lifers Destruction have announced a comprehensive North American tour that will see the band showcase new selections from the band’s milestone 15th album, Diabolical.
Recruited for the run, Brazilian outfit Nervosa has signed on in what will be the third trek as a tandem. The band led by guitarist Prika Amaral will be unleashing cuts from their high-praised full length, Perpetual Chaos.
The stretch of dates will also include supporting sets from special guests Sunlord and VX36 and will culminate with a special performance from Destruction on the mainstage of Maryland’s extreme music pilgrimage in the Maryland Deathfest.
Destruction bassist/vocalist Schmier shared his excitement in finally being able to deliver their decimation live. “Yes – we are super thrilled: the first tour of the new record, Diabolical, will kick off in North America! We could not tour there on the last album because of the pandemic, so we made it a top priority to return as soon as the circumstances would allow us, to play for our American fans again!”
Schmier added, We are bringing our friends Nervosa along – they are a perfect match! We toured together before and the pits were smoking! They also haven’t toured in the USA or Canada in a long while. This is a killer package and we are super excited! See you all for a serious beating!”
Nervosa leader Prika Amaral also weighed in, “This will be a super fun tour with legends and friends – Nervosa with DESTRUCTION touring for the third time together, but this time in North America, and Nervosa with the new lineup. Be prepared for a thrash massacre! We can’t wait!”
Diabolical arrives on April 8th via Napalm Records and underscores the durability and longevity of one of the genre’s most influential outfits. A skilled meld of speed and fury, the album is a 47-minute onslaught packaged in 13-tracks and punctuated by a powerful cover of punk pillars GBH’s “City Baby Attacked By Rats”.
