Referring to his “Vexit 2021,” the frontman has since raised nearly all of his initial goal in just 24 hours.

Rock band Bad Wolves has commanded headlines recently for their split with polarizing frontman Tommy Vext. While both parties have taken to their respective platforms to reiterate the amicability of the departure and a call to keep things civil among the fans, Vext has now issued a lengthy formal statement regarding the ultimate decision to stop away from the band.

Publishing the statement via his personal social media outlets, Vext articulated both a written and video read through of the same statement. In the 12-minute video, Vext cites an overwhelming cancel culture that came after his band collectively for opinions that Vext made throughout the turbulence of 2020.

From his skepticism with regards to the restrictions implemented from the pandemic, to his public support of President Donald Trump, to his opposing viewpoint of the protests as the Black Lives Matter movement spread internationally, Vext’s assertions proved especially divisive and his band was involved in the fallout.

Again expressing gratitude and appreciation to his bandmates and citing the history he has with all the of members, Vext explained that his next steps were continue to pursue his craft as a solo artist. Sharing that the Covid-19 pandemic had forced him to work remotely on what was to be Bad Wolves 3rd LP, as well as a cover album, Vext claims to have some 37 tracks completed “without much input from my ex band members”.

In an effort to pay for the studio time and expenses already incurred thus far for the project, Vext made a humbling appeal to the Wolfpack in the form a $100,000 GoFundMe campaign and in just the first day, the frontman has nearly achieved his goal. Due to the overwhelming show of support, Vext has altered his plans to include not just the beginning of his solo career, but potentially his own record label and merchandise company.

“This has been a crazy 24 hours. I can’t believe we passed our goal in less then one day of a 30-day campaign. I’m going to continue this and share with people the next thirty days. If we raise enough money I can start my own record label and Merch company. Additionally I can hire an attourney to handle this separation properly. You guys have no idea how much this means and what a statement it’s making to the record industry and other artists. Our Independence is our freedom!”
