The duo have also confirmed the return Astronomicon 5, the release of the first two of four graphic novel installments, have launched a collectible toy company and are prepping to hit the road with Static X, Fear Factory, Dope and Mushroomhead.
Back in August, the tandem of Jamie Madrox and Monoxide delivered their fifteenth studio album in Unlikely Prescription. Spawning a slew of singles that stuck, the album was propelled by the effectiveness of the Spencer Charnas-assisted “Envy” which cracked the Top 30 at active rock radio, with the official music video surpassing 1 million views on YouTube.
The album also doubled down on the duo’s full embrace of their rock sensibilities, bolstered further by the production of Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed, Spirit Adrift) and the collaborative connection with the likes of Cradle of Filth architect Dani Filth on a tracks like “Neon Vamp“.
For the team’s latest offering from Unlikely Prescription, Madrox and Monoxide go bars with Matt B of From Ashes to New on an empowering track that reiterates Twiztid’s true life tenacity on and off the track in “No Change”.
Further asserting their unparalleled work ethic and prolific pace, Twiztid aren’t resting on their laurels and celebrating the latest visual release. The pair are already back in the studio, hard at work with Zuess once more for what will be the follow-up to Unlikely Prescription, due out sometime in 2022.
Other than Twiztid’s 2021 album, the band’s ability to diversify is nothing short of remarkable. In fact, Twiztid has announced the return of their own pop-culture convention with the confirmation of the fifth Astronomicon making it’s return. Astrnomicon 5 is confirmed for Burton Manor, Livonia, MI on April 22nd through the 24th of 2022. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now from www.astronomicon.com Celebrity appearances from across the worlds of pro-wrestling, comic books, music, horror and movies still to be announced.
The previous year’s edition of Astronomicon 4 earned honors as Best Comic Convention in the Metro Times’ Best of Detroit Awards – a title the gathering had scored for the second consecutive year. Among the appearances at Astronomicon have included luminaries such as AEW’s Darby Allen, Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti, WWE pillars in Mick Foley and Mickie James, fixtures of horror in Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley and Michael Berryman, Comic Book Men’s Ming Cheng and Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills.
Of course, what’s a comic book convention without a comic of your own though right? Ensuring they are covering all their bases, Twiztid is releasing the first two of four graphic novels in Twiztid Haunted High Ons: “The Curse of the Green Book”.
The graphic novel series ironically features Twiztid as a team of fake ghost hunters who unwittingly find themselves in real-life paranormal situations. Pre-ordering the individual issues is the only way for fans to guarantee their copy, especially of the main cover art as well as the variant cover of each issue. The first couple of issues are currently available for pre-order at comic book retailers everywhere.
