Underoath recruit Every Time I Die and Spiritbox for 2022 North American tour in support of Voyeurist

Posted by Ramon Gonzales in News on August 16, 2021

The tour begins February 2022 and features the first live performances from Underoath since their critically-acclaimed Observatory livestreaming series.

Core progressives Underoath recently announced their seventh full length album with the January 14th arrival of Voyerist via Fearless Records. Anchored by the debut of powerful introductory tracks including “Damn Excuses” and the dynamic “Hallelujah,” the self-produced effort reasserts the band’s rank in the hierarchy of heavy while breaking new sonic ground after nearly a two decade run.

In celebration of the release of Voyeurist, Underoath have now confirmed a colossal teaming with their Voyeurist North American trek slated for 2022 which features supporting performances from innovators Every Time I Die and emerging sensation, Spiritbox. The 27-date engagement kicks off February 18th in Dallas and concludes with a finale at The Tabernacle in Atlanta on March 25th.

Underoath vocalist Spencer Chamberlain spoke about the announcement of the tour and his shared excitement as the band begins their latest chapter. “There was a time during the pandemic where I didn’t know if we’d ever get to tour again. I would sit up at night and try to wrap my brain around a world without live music and I just couldn’t ever digest that thought. That being said we couldn’t think of a better way to come back on the tour than with our friends Every Time I Die and Spiritbox. Our thought is if we are gonna do this, let’s DO IT!”

Chamberlain continued of the stacked line up, “We wanted to put together the best/craziest lineup we could think of so we could all let loose in a live setting together again. We want this show to be fun for everyone attending from start to finish, so here we go.”

The North American jaunt marks the live return of Underoath – their first performances since their critically-lauded Observatory livestreaming shows. Revisiting landmark releases in 2008’s Lost in the Sound of Separation, 2006’s Define the Great Line and 2004’s They’re Only Chasing Safety, the band not only delivered a powerfully potent stage show, but helped to usher in a new era of livstreaming. The series of shows was heralded by critics and well-received by fans, such that the creative chemistry prompted Underoath to return to the studio and commence sessions on what would eventually become Voyeurist.

Presale and VIP tickets now at underoath777.com and public on-sale begins August 20th at 10am local time via Ticketmaster.com. There are VIP packages available that include a soundcheck party featuring a special performance and Q+A with the band, plus limited-edition merchandise.
