Aussie outfit Void Of Vision have began the follow up campaign for the latest in their Chronicles EP series with the announcement of their second installment, ‘Heaven’. The release is set to arrive April 29th on UNFD and follows the first in the series in 2021’s well-received, ‘Lust’.
Reiterating the band’s bold stance of experimentalism and musical evolution that began with Lust, Heaven further develops the band’s boundless creativity and features some of the first love songs VoV have ever crafted. Contrasting their previous articulation of more bleak themes in their music, Heaven finds the band exploring notions of empowerment and optimism set to a dynamically heavy crunch.
Among the particularly interesting talking points from the EP, Heaven will feature vocalist Jack Bergin adding clean vocals to his repertoire. The release will also feature a guest assist from collaborative cohort, Hannah Greenwood of the band Creeper.
Offering a glimpse into the musicality of VoV latest chapter, “Into The Dark” showcases the full range of the band under the tutelage of Architects drummer Dan Searle. The track, groove heavy, chorus huge and electronically accented presents the stylistic spectrum in one 4-minute shot. Begin details the evolution of the single, “It’s an extremely odd feeling to describe, hearing the first few notes of your to-be magnum opus for the first time before it’s even finished. Creating this song, from go to woe, was one of the most rewarding moments of our band’s career and now presents as a crucial landmark in Void of Vision’s timeline.”
The vocalist adds, “‘Into the Dark’ smashed down any pre-conceived barrier of innocence or naivety that we may have ever showed prior and propelled us into a brand new creative world where we feel more at home than ever before.”
