The Nine Inch Nails architect gets emotional in discussion the evolution of the classic track, “Hurt”
The Netflix series based on the Hrishikesh Hirway podcast now has a trailer for the second volume. Set to feature at length discussions with The Killers, Natalia Lafourcade, Duo Lipa, and Nine Inch Nails, the program explores the evolution and impact of one of the artists’ most enduring tracks.
The first look at the second volume suggest a very powerful watch as the trailer reveals Trent Reznor listening to his own track, “Hurt” and explaining, “That’s me not knowing who I was anymore. I felt alone. When I finished it, I think I said, ‘I’m sorry.’”
The series host Hrishikesh Hirway explained the added significance in having Trent Reznor participate in the next installment of the show in that if it wasn’t for Trent, the show may have never materialized.
“I first interviewed Trent Reznor for a Nine Inch Nails episode of the podcast back in 2017, and afterward, as I was packing up my microphone and laptop, he asked me, ‘Have you ever thought about making this into a TV show?’” he explained. “It was just a glimmer of an idea back then. I’m so excited that it’s come to life, and I get to share four more episodes of the series with these beloved artists. They’re all so different from one another in terms of sound and background, and I can’t wait for people to see and hear their stories, and the unique path they each took to create these songs.”
The series premieres on Netflix starting December 15th. Watch the trailer below.
