The early 2023 jaunt will showcase new selections from the band’s most recent SharpTone Records full length, Darkbloom.
To frame the kind of excitement that swelled with the arrival of the first new record from metalcore stalwarts We Came As Romans in five years, the collective singles that previewed Darkbloom in “Plagued“, “Golden” , “Black Hole” featuring Beartooth’s Caleb Shomo, “Daggers” as well as the title track of the album have tallied some 5.1 million hits on Youtube. Collectively, the tracks have amassed some 50 million streams thus far. With the release of the album just last week, that number is expected to skyrocket as fans consume the record as a whole.
In celebration of the triumphant return to form, We Came As Romans have confirmed a wide-reaching US tour with the news of the early 2023 Darkbloom US headliner set to begin in January to kick off the new year. The tour will also include supporting sets from progressive metalcore standouts Erra and deathcore juggernaut Brand of Sacrifice. The tandem of We Came As Romans and Brand of Sacrifice linked for to rework the “Darkbloom” title track in a joint effort that hits with the kind of intensity that provides an interesting preview of what is set to unfurl live on this run.
We Came As Romans guitarist Joshua Moore conveyed the band’s eagerness to hit the road and share the live translation of the mammoth power loaded on the Darkbloom album. “We’re stoked to announce we’ll be hitting the road again on the Darkbloom headliner! We’re being our pals in ERRA and Brand Of Sacrifice – get ready for a heavy show! We’re excited to be able to play a ton of new songs for our fans, we’re so grateful for your support over the last four years!”
The arrival of Darkbloom marks an important beginning for the current iteration of We Came As Romans. The album is the first since the tragic passing of the band’s brother in music, Kyle Pavone. In the wake of his passing, friends and family have started the Kyle Pavone Foundation – an organization set on providing much needed assistance for those struggling with addiction, as well as their families.
The core of frontman David Stephens, guitarist Joshua Moore, bassist Andy Glass, guitarist Lou Cotton, and drummer David Puckett confidently march forward penning the next chapter for the band while retaining the legacy that made the unit such a beloved contributor to the space of metalcore. Darkbloom serves as a tribute to Pavone’s legacy and the resilience of the band members’ commitment to carry on.
