The frontman visits the Talk Toomey podcast to discuss the current Zombie tour, the increased creative output and how the band battled the pandemic by being as productive as possible.
Returning as a guest on the Talk Toomey podcast, The Devil Wears Prada frontman Mike Hranica sat in for a discussion about the band’s forthcoming album, Color Decay due out next month via Solid State Records.
The last time Hranica joined the podcast, the band had just shared the second installment of their Zombie EP series and the conversation ended up very hockey heavy. It just wouldn’t be a proper Hranica chat without some hockey banter, but the guys really dove into the particulars of the new album in a conversation that touched on everything from the concept and execution of the music videos to how Mike sources his vocal ideas for the tracks.
Hranica went onto the reveal that even following the acclaim of ZII last year, the band found themselves still hunkered down to due to pandemic restrictions. So as not to waste any time, everyone opted to be as productive as they could and immediately got to work on more music. Taking into account how people were consuming music during the pandemic and the appetite for new tunes that was very apparent, TDWP had no issue with keeping their foot on the gas when it came to creative output.
Staying on that topic, the guys also discussed how TDWP has done well in delivering a healthy amount of well executed music videos for their latest project. Hranica explained how the band linked with a talented videography team and stuck to the plan of making sure the album had a healthy visual preview to ensure fans had plenty to be excited about.
The guys spend some time discussing TDWP’s current Zombie trek with Stray From the Path and Dying Wish and how the tour finally gives the band the chance to hit the road in support of ZII in a way they couldn’t before. There is also some hockey talk because… Mike Hranica.
