The horror studio will team up with James Wan’s Atomic Monster to adapt the famous horror survival game

Just days after Blumhouse Productions announced they’d be starting their own gaming division, the leading horror movie studio have shared that work has begun on a feature film adaptation of Dead by Daylight. The horror survival game is a favorite of fans of the genre, featuring a simple setup of a group of survivors attempting to escape from a malevolent killer.

Behavior Interactive will be directly involved and the production will also bring in Atomic Monster, which is run by renowned filmmaker James Wan. “In Dead by Daylight the Behaviour team has created a love letter to the world of horror, building an incredible environment teeming with atmosphere and terrifying villains — perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation.” said Wan.

The game is best known for its use of licensed horror movie characters that players get to control, both survivor and killers. The game includes characters from Halloween, Resident Evil, Stranger Things, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and more.

It remains to be seen whether or not this movie adaptation could become some kind of horror crossover event, but many fans will undoubtedly be asking for it. The film is likely still a few years out, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to get any real plot details or director and casting announcements.
