Marvel Studios Announces Their Entire Slate Through 2025

San Diego Comic-Con has always been the premiere destination for fandoms to collide and partake in one of the ultimate nerd experiences. While the convention celebrates all sorts of different properties and franchises and genres, Marvel Studios has been the reigning champ for years now when it comes to excitement and presence. 

Any announcements from Marvel are considered gospel and met with cheers equal to those let out in packed showings of Avengers movies. With SDCC 2022 being the first proper in-person event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Marvel’s time onstage was already guaranteed to be more hype than usual, but they also had more than a few surprises up their sleeves. Here’s every announcement from Marvel Studios about their upcoming slate:

‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’

Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) becomes the powerful She-Hulk after a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Walters struggles to juggle her career as a lawyer – specifically one who specializes in superhero-related cases – with her recent big and green transformations, as well as a romantic life. Jameela Jamil also stars in the series as Titania, a rival for Walters, and Tim Roth will be reprising his role as Emil Blonsky AKA The Abomination from the original The Incredible Hulk.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (November 11th 2022)

Wakanda Forever officially ends Phase 4 of the MCU, which kicked off its current Multiverse Saga that will continue on throughout the franchise. The Wakandans must fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s (Chadwick Boseman) death. As they strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and the Atlanteans appear to be the antagonists.

‘What If…? (Season 2)’ (Early 2023)

Marvel Studios Animation led the event with officially confirming that a second season is coming of their multiverse, timeline hopping animated series that explores different ways certain Marvel stories could’ve played out. New episodes include one set to be based off the 2003 limited comic series Marvel: 1602, which places superheroes in the Elizabethan Era. Other episodes and plot lines feature a story about Hela, Odin vs The Mandarin, Yondu giving young Peter Quill to his father Ego, Captain Carter meeting Winter Soldier Natasha and more. A third season was also confirmed.

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ (February 17th 2023)

Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), along with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Quantumania launches the MCU into Phase 5 and features Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) as well as M.O.D.O.K. appearing as possible antagonists. Bill Murray is also set to star in an undisclosed role.

‘Secret Invasion’ (Spring 2023)

In this Disney+ series, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and others try to stop an invasion of Skrulls who have infiltrated the highest spheres of the Marvel Universe. Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman will be appearing as well.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ (May 5th 2023)

Still reeling from the loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful. James Gunn’s game-changing trilogy comes to an emotional end next year as the story of the galaxy’s biggest assholes to ever save it reaches its conclusion.

‘Echo’ (Summer 2023)

The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward. Continuing on the story that began in Hawkeye, Echo will also feature appearances by Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox).

‘Loki (Season 2)’ (Summer 2023)

Variants and multiverse calamities run amok in Season 2 of Loki, which will see the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) once again working his friend Mobius (Owen Wilson) in order to repair the collapsing multiverse as well as further his own needs.

‘The Marvels’ (July 20th 2023)

Nia DaCosta (Candyman) directs the follow up to Captain Marvel, which will have Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) teaming up with both Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) to face a new cosmic threat. 

‘X-Men ‘97’ (Fall 2023)

One of the more surprising announcements this year was X-Men ‘97, a continuation of the classic animated X-Men TV show. Everyone’s favorite mutants will be returning in all new adventures as soon as next year, brought back to life in its classic 2D animation style.

‘Ironheart’ (Fall 2023)

In this Disney+ series, genius teenage inventor Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Naturally, that comes with a lot of enemies. Riri will first be seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever before starring in her own series, which also stars Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana and Anthony Ramos. Don Cheadle as War Machine is also set to appear.

‘Blade’ (November 3rd 2023)

A reboot of Blade has been a long time coming, and Marvel fans got their first tease at the end of Eternals. Mahershala Ali takes over the role from Wesley Snipes in the new film which also stars Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre.

‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ (Winter 2023)

Originally titled House of Harkness, Kathryn Hahn is receiving her own series focused on her villainous character Agatha Harkness. Agatha stirred up plenty of trouble for Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) in WandaVision. The series will likely explore the witch’s background and life throughout the hundreds of years she’s been alive as well as expand on the chaos magic she described to Wanda. Olsen is likely to make an appearance.

‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’ (2024)

Another animated series that’s only kinda-sorta canon, Freshman Year is set before Captain America: Civil War and will follow the earliest adventures of Peter before he ever met Tony and joined up with the Avengers. Characters set to make appearances in the show, aside include Harry Osborne, Amadeus Cho, Chameleon, Scorpion, Doc Ock, Rhino, The Wizard, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and Norman Osborne.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (Spring 2024)

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are back from the beloved Netflix series to keep their war for the heart of Hell’s Kitchen going in this Disney+ series. The show has a surprising 18 episode order, more than any Marvel series thus far.

‘Captain America: New World Order’ (May 3rd 2024)

Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is still adjusting to his new title as Captain America and will face his greatest challenge yet to prove that he has what it takes to be a leader. Julius Onah (Luce, The Cloverfield Paradox) will be directing the film which will also see the return of Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) and U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Interestingly enough, the movie shares the same title as the first episode of that series.

‘Marvel Zombies’ (2024)

Marvel Zombies is exactly what you’d expect: A full-fledged series that features zombified versions of countless characters doing what zombies do. The animated series will be rated TV-MA for its content so expect lots of gushy brain chomping and body dismemberment.

‘Thunderbolts’ (July 28th 2024)

Finally, finally, finally Marvel is giving us a supervillain team-up (of sorts). The Thunderbolts are a bit like Marvel’s version of the Suicide Squad, and it looks like the mysterious Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) has been putting the team together. While nothing is confirmed, most fans seem to think the group will consist of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Abomination (Tim Roth), Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko). The film will signal the end of Phase 5, so whatever exactly goes down is sure to be huge.

‘Fantastic Four’ (November 8th 2024)

Launching Phase 6 of the MCU is the long-awaited reboot of the Fantastic Four. The film has no director and no official cast announcements have been made, but an alternate universe visited in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness did show us a version of Reed Richards played by John Krasinki, a popular fan choice for the role online.

‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ (May 2nd 2025)

Jonathan Majors made his first eerie appearance as one of the endless variants of Kang the Conqueror in Loki, and it appears that he’s set to become the new Thanos of the Marvel Universe. The Avengers – in whatever iteration that may be – will be forced to team up for the first time since 2019 to stop his plans for multiverse domination. This will be the first of two Avengers movies released in one year. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ (November 7th 2025)

The second Avengers film in the same year, Secret Wars is what will likely spell the end of Phase 6 and the entire Multiverse Saga for the MCU. Comic book fans may know what’s going on, but so far details are nonexistent on the actual story. Topping Endgame may seem impossible, but then again, Marvel has done the impossible before.
