‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ (Netflix)
Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) returns to peel back the layers in a new Rian Johnson whodunit. This fresh adventure finds the intrepid detective at a lavish private estate on a Greek island, but how and why he comes to be there is only the first of many puzzles. Blanc soon meets a distinctly disparate group of friends gathering at the invitation of billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) for their yearly reunion. Among those on the guest list are Miles’ former business partner Andi Brand (Janelle Monáe), current Connecticut governor Claire Debella (Kathryn Hahn), cutting-edge scientist Lionel Toussaint (Leslie Odom Jr.), fashion designer and former model Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson) and her conscientious assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick), and influencer Duke Cody (Dave Bautista) and his sidekick girlfriend Whiskey (Madelyn Cline). As in all the best murder mysteries, each character harbors their own secrets, lies and motivations. When someone turns up dead, everyone is a suspect.
‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (Season 3)’ (Prime Video)
When CIA analyst Jack Ryan (John Krasinki) stumbles upon a suspicious series of bank transfers his search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies. In season 3, Jack has gone rogue.
‘Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge’ (Shudder)
When horror guru Rad Chad Buckley’s funeral turns into an elaborate series of death traps centered around Chad’s favorite films, the guests must band together and use the rules of horror to survive the bloody game. ‘The Flagmakers’ (Disney+)
From Academy Award-winning director Cynthia Wade, award-winning director Sharon Liese and executive producer Giannis Antetokounmpo, The Flagmakers, a meditation on the American dream, follows workers at the country’s largest maker of American flags and flagpoles, including the refugees and immigrants who have risked everything to come to the USA.
‘Alice in Borderland (Season 2)’ (Netflix)
Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) try to unravel the mysteries of Borderland to return to the real world. In a place they believe holds the key to uncovering these mysteries, they meet allies, enemies, and the mastermind behind all of the games. Arisu and the others pit themselves against games of a scale and difficulty that exceed the first season.
‘Strange World’ (Disney+)
In this new animated adventure feature from the legendary Walt Disney Animation Studios, a legendary family of explorers known as the Clades embark on a journey to the mysterious and very much alive planet of Avalonia. Their differences threaten to topple this latest and most crucial mission, so they’ll have to find a way to come together however they can in order to succeed. Director Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Raya and the Last Dragon) brings inspiration from the worlds of pulp magazines and films like Journey to the Center of the Earth. The cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union and Lucy Liu.
‘Paranoia’ (Hulu)
Adam Cassidy (Liam Hemsworth) is a rising star at a global tech company run by Nicolas Wyatt (Gary Oldman). An innocent mistake proves costly to Adam when Wyatt forces him to become a corporate spy to obtain trade secrets from a rival company run by Jock Goddard (Harrison Ford), Wyatt’s former partner. At first, Adam finds that the assignment is like a clever game — but when he wants to get out of the situation, he learns that each tech titan will go to shocking lengths to protect his secrets.
‘The Legend of Molly Johnson’ (Hulu)
1893, the Australian Outback. The area is rough, the people hard-nosed, the law rather secondary. Here, women – and newcomers anyway – quickly become the pawn of men. Even Nate Clintoff (Sam Reid), who is new in town to keep law and order, still has to fight for his place in the hierarchy. After a ten year hiatus, the hit anime Bleach is returning to finally finish its story in a big way. Ichigo and his friends return to save their world and the Soul Society once again, with the threat this time around being the mighty Quincies. The final arc begins now, and it’s going to be a bloodbath. The first eleven episodes are now streaming with the two-part finale arriving next week.
‘The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans’ (Shudder)
Your favorite drag monsters are back to compete in a grand championship of drag artistry and physical challenges for a $100,000 grand prize, along with the headlining spot on the upcoming world tour and the first ever “Dragula Titans” crown and title. The first nine episodes are now streaming.
‘Mythic Quest (Season 3)’ (Apple TV+)
Ian (Rob McElhenney) and Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) navigate the gaming world and their partnership at the newly formed GrimPop Studios, Dana (Imani Haki) is forced to play mediator to her bosses’ incessant bickering. Back at Mythic Quest, David (David Hornsby) settles into his new role as the boss where he truly finds himself in charge for the first time with Jo (Jessie Ennis) returning as his assistant — more loyal and militant than ever; and Carol (Naomi Ekperigin) attempts to figure out where she fits in after a new promotion. ‘Tulsa King’ (Paramount+)
Tulsa King follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone), just after he is released from prison after 25 years and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters, to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet. ‘Echo 3’ (Apple TV+)
From the writer of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, Echo 3 is an action-packed thriller set in South America that follows Amber Chesborough (Jessica Ann Collins), a brilliant young scientist who is the emotional heart of a small American family. ‘Slow Horses (Season 2)’ (Apple TV+)
Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 – Slough House. Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes.
