‘Prey’ (Hulu)
Prey is the best the Predator franchise has been since the phenomenon of the original. Set centuries in the past, the film follows a young Comanche warrior named Naru (Amber Midthunder) who seeks to prove herself, only to come across an extraterrestrial hunter that’s set its sights on her village and its people. Dan Trachtenberg, the director of the excellent 10 Cloverfield Lane, kicks this fifth entry in the franchise into high gear with kickass action and a fast-paced story.
‘The Sandman’ (Netflix)
There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.

‘They/Them’ (Peacock)
When a group of LGBTQ+ campers arrives at Whistler Camp – a conversion camp run by Owen Whistler (Kevin Bacon) – they are promised a “new sense of freedom” by the end of the week. But as the counselors attempt to psychologically break down each of the campers, a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, and they must reclaim their power if they’re going to survive the horrors of the camp.
‘What Josiah Saw’ (Shudder)

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in action and up to their teenage antics in this comedic adventure that raises the stakes higher than ever before.
‘Belle’ (HBO Max)
A reserved and lonesome high schooler named Suzu (Kaho Nakamura) joins a massive online virtual world and suddenly becomes an anonymous international superstar, and becomes an unlikely ally to a powerful fugitive who goes by Dragon (Takeru Satoh). Incredible animation is paired with beautiful music, strong emotional stakes and even stunning action in what may be Studio Chizu’s finest hour.
‘Licorice Pizza’ (Amazon Prime Video)
Licorice Pizza is the story of Alana Kane (Alana Haim) and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman) growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973. Written and Directed by heralded filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, this potent coming-of-age drama tracks the treacherous navigation of first love.

‘For All Mankind (Season 3)’ (Apple TV+)

‘Black Bird’ (Apple TV+)
