‘Saloum’ (Shudder)

Shot down after fleeing a coup and extracting a drug lord from Guinea-Bissau, the legendary mercenaries known as the Bangui Hyenas – Chaka (Yann Gael), Rafa (Roger Sallah) and Midnight (Mentor Ba) – must stash their stolen gold bounty, lay low long enough to repair and refuel their plane and escape back to Dakar, Senegal.

‘The Imperfects’ (Netflix)

Three twenty-somethings who, following an experimental gene therapy, are turned into monsters who band together to hunt down the scientist responsible and force him to make them human again. Dr. Sydney Burke (Italia Ricci), a brilliant scientist looking to fix her past mistakes, both professional and ethical, allies with Abbi (Rhianna Jagpal), Juan (Iñaki Godoy) and Tilda (Morgan Taylor Campbell) to track down the scientist responsible for their grim fates. Meanwhile, Dr. Alex Sarkov (Rhys Nicholson), a former child prodigy, refuses to let anyone or anything interfere with his goal of rewriting the human genome and ushering in the next stage of human evolution.

‘End of the Road’ (Netflix)

In this high-octane action thriller, a cross-country road trip becomes a highway to hell for Brenda (Queen Latifah) and her family. Alone in the New Mexico desert, they have to fight for their lives when they become the targets of a mysterious killer.

‘Pinocchio’ (Disney+)

Robert Zemeckis directs this live action and CGI retelling of the beloved tale of a wooden puppet who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy. Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto, the woodcarver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his real son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his “conscience”; Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is “Honest” John; Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character, and Luke Evans is The Coachman.

‘Little Women’ (Netflix)

Three sisters (Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-Hyun & Ji-hu Park) become embroiled in a major incident and face off against the wealthiest family in the nation in this mystery thriller.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ (Disney+)

Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Love and Thunder marks Waititi’s return to the MCU after revitalizing it with Ragnarok, and makes Thor the only Avenger thus far to receive a fourth solo film.

‘Moonfall’ (HBO Max)

The master of disaster Roland Emmerich is back once again with more big budget mayhem. In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley) believe her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.

‘Five Days at Memorial’ (Apple TV+)

Based on the nonfiction book by Sheri Fink, Five Days at Memorial chronicles the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a hospital. When the floodwaters rise, power fails and heat soars, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital are forced to make decisions that will follow them for years to come. The first seven episodes are now streaming with the finale arriving next week.

‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ (Disney+)

Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) becomes the powerful She-Hulk after a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Walters struggles to juggle her career as a lawyer – specifically one who specializes in superhero-related cases – with her recent big and green transformations, as well as a romantic life. Jameela Jamil also stars in the series as Titania, a rival for Walters, and Tim Roth will be reprising his role as Emil Blonsky AKA The Abomination from the original The Incredible Hulk. ‘Bad Sisters’ (Apple TV+)

‘House of the Dragon’ (HBO Max)

The reign of House Targaryen begins: House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones, is here. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. The first three episodes are now streaming.

‘Little Demon’ (Hulu)

In FX’s Little Demon, an animated comedy featuring the voices of Danny DeVito and Aubrey Plaza, it has been 13 years since being impregnated by Satan, and a reluctant mother, Laura, and her Antichrist daughter, Chrissy, attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware.
